Legacy analysts usually come with a good technical background but they are very conservative in their approach towards emerging technologies. Such a conservative approach worked well with enterprises in the past decades when the technological evolution was more or less linear. It didn’t put their enterprise clients in any serious disadvantage because they could always bridge the impact of incremental changes in technology by playing a catching up game. However, today’s technology is evolving at an exponential rate and the legacy conservative approach is turning out to be a huge drag on modern enterprises. It is just not helping them to stay competitive in an era when even small businesses can afford to have technology that help them compete with their larger counterparts.
